Obituary of Wanda Sue Bonner

Mrs. Wanda Sue Williams Bonner was born on January 14, 1956, in Ferris, TX to Herman and Emma Williams. Wanda was the 3rd child of 8 and the oldest girl. After moving to Dallas, she attended Lisbon Elementary, Zumwalt Middle School and graduated from South Oak Cliff High School in 1974.

In her teenage years, Wanda accepted Christ under her uncle Dr. TR. McNealy Sr. Throughout her youth, she participated as an usher, and continued her service as a Pastor’s aide, Deaconess, Women’s Ministry, Hospitality Committee, and Choir.

Her service in ministry started at Homeland Missionary Baptist Church, continuing with Grace Celebration Fellowship for 10 years and ending her finally serviceship at Willow Grove Baptist Church.

During her time in ministry, she met and fell in love with Chatman Bonner and entered holy matrimony on November 30,1974. She was a “good wife and good mother” as Chatman says. Wanda and Chat were blessed with their one and only child La Trisha Bonner James.

Wanda started her medical career within optics, transitioning into pharmacy and receiving her certification as a pharmacy technician. She later returned to her first passion within optics and continuing employment at First Eye Care under Dr. Roger Weikum for 21 years.

As a fashionable personality her color coordination was front and center with hat and shoes to match. Wanda was an excellent listener, amazing cook, personal advisor, a shoulder to lean on and a dependable Matriarchal figure of her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents Herman and Emma Williams, 2 brothers Rudy Williams and Lorenzo Williams.

Her presence will be missed by her dedicated husband Chatman Bonner of 46 years, daughter La Trisha (Malcolm), granddaughter Reagan, lovingly known as Nana gramgirl, 2 brothers Billy Robertson (Rita), Richard Robertson Sr. (Linda), 3 sisters Linda Rabb (Ricky), Lucinda Williams (David) and LaKeesha Williams. 2 sister n laws Joyce Lewis (Joe), Yvonne Finley, bonus family Robert & Irene Martinez, Stephen, Angel and Destiny, 3 godchildren Shanequa Howard, Richard Robertson Jr. and Taja Gardner, special friendships with Linda Smith, Debra Wagner, Mary Jackson and Alicia Young, as well as a host of other family members, nieces and nephews.
