Loel Lonell Booker passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on March 31, 2017, at Harbor Hospice in Dallas, TX. He was born in Dallas on September 26, 1935, to Bennie “Lucille” and Willie Lee Booker, the third of seven children. He grew up in South Dallas and attended Lincoln High School. After he graduated high school in 1955, he made his way to Washington DC, to attend Howard University. Uncle Sam called him up, and he entered into the Army in 1958. While attending the Lincoln High School Reunion in Dallas, Lonell connected with his classmate Irma Frank. They were married in 2002 and they happily resettled in Dallas for the past 15 years until he went to be with the Lord.
He became a member of Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship in January 24, 2006, serving in the Parking Lot Ministry. He enjoyed watching and playing golf as much as possible.
