Born, Delores Faye Ragland, on December 20, 1940, in Waskom, TX to the parentage of Lizzie Marie Ragland and Sim Ragland. Her parents preceded her in death. Delores moved to Dallas at an early age and attended Dallas Public Schools. She graduated from James Madison High School in 1958. She then met and married Donald J. Smith and to this union 5 children were born. Her husband and son, Stanley R. Smith, both preceded her in death. Delores was an active member of Holy Cross Catholic Church until her health started to deteriorate. She worked as a professional tax accountant for 30 plus years. Delores enjoyed reading, traveling and spending time with her family. Delores leaves to cherish her memory, Debra Matthews (daughter and her husband Paul) – College Station, TX, Eric D. Smith (son and his wife Arlette) – DeSoto, TX, Veronica Lewis (daughter) – Dallas, TX, Jordan Smith (son) – Cedar Hill, TX, 11 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren. She leaves 4 siblings, Robert Ragland (and his wife Nina), Wanda Ragland Long, Betty Ragland, and Lonnie Ragland and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. JOHN 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
