



Obituary of Nolan Alfred Stone Jr.
Nolan Alfred "Butch" Stone, Jr. aged 84 passed away peacefully on February 18, 2025. Nolan was born August 1, 1940 to Nolan Stone Sr. and Gertrude "Baby Ruth" Hawkins Stone in Dallas, TX. He was the oldest of 3 children. Nolan grew up enjoying and respecting military life. He became the drill team captain and student commander with the NDCC (now known as ROTC) at Lincoln High School where he graduated in 1958. He also enjoyed playing the saxophone in high school. He then went on to participate in the ROTC program at North Texas State University where he graduated and joined the Air Force with the rank of Lieutenant. He served in the Air Force for 11 years rising to the rank of Captain. Upon retiring from the military, he joined Honeywell in Denver, CO and continued to serve the military through civilian work for another 15 years. After returning to Dallas, he taught in the Dallas Public School system for another 20 years.
Nolan is preceded in death by his beloved wife Regina Cullors Stone and his brother Eric Stone, Sr.
Nolan was a fun person to be around bringing levity to any gathering. He enjoyed sharing stories of his many travels around the world. His hobbies included model planes and trains.
Nolan leaves behind to cherish his precious memories one sister Elinor Stone, daughter Tatiyana Stone, step-daughter Gynger Dorsey McDaniel, two nephews, Eric Stone Jr. and Gary Stone and a host of cousins, relatives, and friends.
