Thelma M Persion Obituary

Thelma was born on February 16th, 1946, in Trumble Texas to the late C.G Green and Edna Haywood. Thelma moved to Dallas in the earlier years of her life. She received her formal education in Dallas Independent School District. Thelma accepted Christ into her life, and she joyfully worshiped at Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church. The angel of peace and silence called her home on October 30th, 2025. Thelma was preceded in death by her parents, C.G. Green and Edna Haywood; her siblings, Robert Coleman and Ruby Brookins; and her grandson, Broderick Gaines.

Thelma proudly served as a Nurse Assistant for many years. She had a true gift for caring for others. Her gentle spirit, kind smile, and nurturing heart touched the lives of everyone she cared for.

Thelma favorite hobbies included being around family and friends and doing crossword puzzles.

Legacy and Remembrance

Thelma’s life was defined by love, joy, and service. She was a devoted daughter, a caring sister, a loyal friend, a loving Mother, Grandma, and more. Her radiant smile, sense of humor, and positive energy left a lasting impact on all who knew her. Thelma’s legacy is one of kindness, integrity, and a commitment in so many people’s lives.

She leaves to cherish her memory: her siblings, Edna Davis (Wilbert), and Kenneth Haywood (Loraine); her children, Cedric Brown (Laura), Billy Hawthorne, Hope Hawthorne; Ten great-grandchildren; and a host of extended family members and friends. Though her time with us was far too short, her memory will be cherished forever.
