Kenneth Earl Rowe Obituary

Obituary for Kenneth Earl Rowe

Kenneth Earl Rowe, affectionately known as Ken, peacefully entered eternal rest on November 28, 2025. He was born on October 2, 1945, in Austin, Texas, to the late Rev. Robert Rowe and Bessie Rowe.

Ken received his early education in Austin, TX. As a young man, he relocated with his family to Dallas, Texas, when his father accepted the call to pastor Munger Avenue Baptist Church. This move marked the beginning of a lifetime of service, music, and community in the Dallas Fort Worth area.

Ken attended Bishop College, where he further developed his musical gifts. A naturally talented and anointed organist, he went on to share his musicianship in numerous churches throughout DFW. His playing blessed congregations, uplifted services, and touched countless lives.

Ken’s love for his family was evident in the way he cared for his parents. He remained steadfast and attentive, making sure both his mother and father were well cared for until their transition from this life. Ken was blessed with one son, Marcus Rowe, whom he loved dearly. He also pursued his passion for hospitality as the owner of Class Act Catering, where he poured his creativity and heart into providing elegant, memorable experiences for every client he served. His love for excellence was evident in every event he touched.

One of Ken’s greatest accomplishments was founding the Seasoned Saints Senior Choir, a vibrant community choir that has been in existence for more than 20 years. The choir first debuted in Plano, Texas, at Greater New Birth Baptist Church, under the leadership of his lifelong friend and brother of more than 50 years, Pastor Charles R. Terry, Sr. Their bond was a testament to loyalty, faith, and chosen family.

Ken was truly blessed with a rare and priceless gift: the ability to choose his family through friendship. Pastor Terry, Elwina Terry, and their family not only embraced Ken as their own, but they showed unwavering love and care, especially during the times he needed them most. Their dedication ensured Ken’s final years were filled with honor, comfort, and compassion.

Ken is preceded in death by his parents, Rev. Robert Rowe & Bessie Rowe, his brother, William H. Rowe, and sister in law Janice Rowe.

He leaves to cherish his memory:

His chosen brother and sister, Charles & Elwina Terry;  Nephews: Charles Terry Jr. (Dayron & Jaxon) and Allan Terry (Satine & Ayden); Nieces: Charlesha Terry (Kerrington), Chareka Terry (Cyhana), and Catavia Stance (Trevion & Jada);

His son Marcus Rowe, daughter in law Christina Rowe; Grandchildren: De’Osha Logan, Ladarius Logan, Chanteon Rowe, Taylor Fry (Edrick); Great-grandchildren: Brielle Logan and Ahmad Logan; Nieces: Meredith Rowe, McKienzie Rowe, Lindsey Rowe and a host of extended family, friends, choir members, church members, and loved ones whose lives were touched by his warmth, humor, talent, and generosity.

Ken lived a full life marked by music, service, creativity, and community. His legacy will continue through the melodies he played, the meals he crafted with excellence, and the lives he uplifted along the way.

Earth has lost a gentle soul, but Heaven has gained a faithful servant.
