Luvenia Ann Kerney, 58, was unexpectedly given her wings on Christmas morning at
home. She was born in Dallas, Texas, to Frances Ann Sheffield and Otis Kerney Sr.
Luvenia graduated from W.H. Adamson Highschool, then continued her education in
cosmetology and received her CNA early; she loved giving care and working in the
healthcare field. She received her trucking license from CRST Trucking and traveled the
world.
Luvenia married the love of her life Franklin Torres and had two wonderful
children. After traveling and being on the road, her next path took her to providing home
healthcare for her mom, where her love of healthcare and family all came together.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin Torres; her uncles: Jesse Black,
George Weaver, and Grandmother Frances Jones.
Luvenia is survived by her son: Devon Kerney, daughter: Jaia Kerney, and her mother
Frances Sheffield, all resides in Dallas, and her sisters: Swansalane (Terry) Henderson
of Sanger and Benniecea (Jeffrey) Coleman of Springtown. She also has five loving
nieces, two great nephews, one great niece, two aunts, one uncle, and a host of
cousins.
