Sandra Lanell Blair Obituary

The Life and Legacy of Sandra Lanell Blair

Sandra Blair was born on December 7, 1962, in Dallas, TX., to her loving parents Fred Blair, Sr. and Evelyn Blair.  Sandra brought immense joy into the world from the very beginning.

Sandra attended Skyline High School, as well as the University of Texas at Dallas where she graduated with a degree in Business Administration.   She started her professional journey at Dallas County, later building a fulfilling career as a Desoto Police Officer where she worked dedicatedly for over 25 years.  She was also a valued employee for the Desoto Independent School District.

Sandra showed consistent dedication in every endeavor she pursued, even in the face of near fatal circumstances, health concerns, and being injured in the line of duty. She hailed triumphant through every hardship, and was a prized example of resilience and determination to her family and community. It is an understatement to say that she will be missed by all who knew her.

Beyond professional life, Sandra was passionate about watching sports, reading, crossword puzzles, and being around family. She was also a dedicated member of Friendship West Baptist Church where she religiously attended in person or online.

Sandra’s greatest joy was her family.  She enjoyed the many conversations she had with her mother, brother and sister, and her beloved daughter who gave her two precious grandchildren.  She cherished every moment spent making memories during holiday dinners and everyday visits.

Sandra was preceded in death by her father Fred Blair, Sr., brother Fred Blair, Jr., and grandmother Gladys McMullen.

Sandra’s beautiful life will forever be treasured by her mother, Evelyn Blair, daughter Brianna Verdine, grandchildren Harmonee and Deon, brother Reginald (Tierra), sister Tiffany Blair, close friend Sandra Taylor, companion Albert Hightower, and a host of deeply valued nieces, nephews, cousins, and lifelong friends.
