Obituary of Sharon Beatrice Mitchell

Sharon was born June 30, 1954 in Dallas, TX to Lucious and Erma Jean Brooks. On November 24, 2019, Sharon was filled with peace and is now resting in the loving arms of our Heavenly Father. She was formally educated in the Dallas Independent School District and graduated from the acclaimed Franklin D. Roosevelt High School in 1972. She attended Bishop College in Dallas, TX where she received her Bachelor of Science with Emphasis in Elementary Education in 1977. Her teaching careers included Dallas Independent School District and Arlington Independent School District where she retired in 2018. Sharon accepted Christ at a very early age at Golden Gate Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. C.B.T. Smith She was united in holy matrimony to the late Maurice Washington, to this blessed union was born one son Maurice Washington, II and one daughter, Tangi Juarez. She later married Steve Mitchell and to this union was born two sons, Steven Mitchell and Tony Mitchell. Sharon was preceded in death by her son Tony Mitchell, parents Lucious and Erma Jean Brooks, and sister Lucrecia Ann Brooks. She leaves in God’s loving care son Maurice Washington (Myra), daughter Tangi Juarez (Joseph) and son Stephen Mitchell, brother John Brooks and sister Robbie Battee. 6 grandchildren, 2 nephews, 1 aunt, 1 uncle and a host of relatives and friends.
