Monica Jean Jones

Sunrise December 2, 1958 – Sunset April 14, 2024

Monica Jean Jones was born December 2, 1958, in Longview Texas to Maurice jones Sr. and Betty Jones.

Monica graduated from Carter high school in 1977. She went on to North Texas State University where she obtained her Bachelor’s degree, she majored in Psychology. While attending North Texas State Monica pledged Zeta Phi Beta. Monica also received two Master’s degrees, one from Prairie View A&M University, and The University of Phoenix.

Monica’s favorite hobby was photography, she was the family and community photographer. She also loved music; in High School she was a member of David W. Carter Band. Besides photography and music Monica was a second mother to all her nieces and nephews. Monica made sure they had what they needed and showed up to their events, taking pictures of course.

Monica joined St. Luke Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Lloyd Hall, where she was baptized and accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior. Monica served under the youth and transportation ministry.

 Monica is preceded in death by her parents, Maurice and Betty Jones, brother, Maurice Jones Jr.

Left to cherish her memory, her brother Rory Jones, sister in-law Shelia Jones (Maurice Jr.). Her nieces and nephews, Demond, Philip, Shemekia, Carlesha, Sharorie, Kourtni and Cory. Three great nephews and five great nieces. Special friends, Virginia Ward, Cheryl Perkins, and Lois Maracalin, as well as a host of incredibly special relatives and friends
