Obituary of Grace Bacon Grace Estelle Lott Bacon , age 79, Our beloved mother passed away on Saturday February 25, 2017. She was born on in Dallas, Texas on September 15, 1937 to Aleisha Williams and Doris Walton Lott. She attended N. W. Harlee School and later moved to Fort Worth and attended I. M. Terrell High School. Early in life she accepted the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ as her personal savior and her faith was nurtured at the 9th Street Church of Christ and later at the Cedar Crest Church of Christ. At the time of her passing she worshipped faithfully at the Beckley Heights Church of Christ. She was united in marriage to the love of her life T. C. Bacon and remained his wife until his passing in 1977. Her love for fashion and art led her to a career as a hairdresser where she won numerous awards and honors as a professional Hair Stylist. She studied hair style under the tutelage of world renown stylist Art Dyson of Soul Scissors Salons of Beverly Hills California. For a brief period, she was the Principal Director of Hair Salons for Sanger Harris. But her love was Salon ownership where she could freely express her vision of hair care for healthy hair. She Owned and operated A Touch of Grace Beauty Salon until semi-retirement. For the last few years she did a select clientele of very special clients she warmly referred to as her family. They were truly more family than client. In addition to her work as a shop owner, she served on the school boards of her children’s school, John XXIII AND Bishop Dunne, where she is credited with providing excellent leadership. She loved business and politics and would often start a conversation with “what are we gonna do about?” She enjoyed her membership in La Bon Marche ladies social club. As an artist, she had a flair for expression and reduced many a beautiful piece of art to several media including oils, charcoals and pencils. Her diversity as an artist is what drove her to lead the renown Gospel Hour Radio Chorus for more than 20 years where they traveled extensively throughout the United States, spreading the gospel through song. She contributed to charity as well as politics and was recognized in 2006 as an Unsung Hero by the United States Congress, the Texas Senate and House of Representatives and the Dallas City Council. Grace, Gracie, Grace Estelle, Mrs. Grace or Mrs. Bacon moved through socials levels and touched all she met with love and compassion. She was cherished by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her husband, T. C. Bacon; daughter, Schelia Bacon Colliers; father, Doris Walton Lott; and mother, Aleisa Williams English and brother Raymond O.D. Lott. To morn her passing are her children: Carolyn Carter (Rickey), Randy Bacon, Stanley Bacon, and Delania Braden (Robert); her beloved and cherished grandsons, Tralan Chase Mathis and Noah Isiah Carter; her sisters, Doris Williams(Zeke), Pat Hinderman and Lisa Frazier Galloway(Willie) ; brother, Thomas Lott and a host of loving family and friends.
