Obituary of Delores L White

Obituary of Delores White Delores Lee White was born on July 12, 1941, to Leroy Jones Sr. and Rosa Lee Tanner in Chennyville, Louisiana. She received her formal education in the Chennyville Public Schools. After high school, she moved to Dallas, Texas, where she met and married Ernest Melvin White with whom she shared a life of 54 years. To this union three children were born, Jonathan, Donna and Develian. She worked as a cook for The Veterans Hospital for over 18 years. She later opened a restaurant called Whites Lounge and Restaurant. Soon after that, she returned to work for Children’s Medical Center where she retired after many years of service. Delores accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of God’s exciting Cathedral of Praise, under the leadership of Pastor Christopher T. Willis, Sr. She remained a faithful member until her health began to fail. She passed away on October 29, 2016. She is preceded in death by her husband; parents; four brothers, John Henry Walker (Ruth), Leroy Jones Sr. (Shirley), Theopolis Jones Sr. (Dorothy) and Edwin Rosenberg (Nora); and five sisters, Leona Calvert Johnson (Ivory), Rosa Beatrice Jones (Leonard), Daisy Mae Jones Peoples (Cleveland) and Shirley Marie Rosenberg Moore (Henry). Delores leaves to mourn and cherish her memory, one son, Jonathan White; two daughters, Donna White and Develian Chatman (Ronald); six grandchildren, Derrick White, Janessa Howard, Rachael Vaden, Ronnie Vaden, Eric White and Vanessa Howard; nine great-grandchildren; two brothers, Johnny Jones (Delores) and Clinton Jones (Joyce); three sisters, Cora Reed, Doris Davis (Milton) and Mildred Davis (Bennie); and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
