Please share a memory of Everine to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Obituary of Everine Punch Everine Averhart was born to Robert and Lucinda Averhart on November 19, 1934, in Greenville, Texas, but she lived most of her life in Cushing, Texas. Although her father passed away when she was very young, Everine lived a full childhood with her mother and four siblings. Later in her adolescent years, she met Wilford Punch. They married and had their first child, André Punch, in 1952. Soon thereafter, they moved to Dallas, Texas. Everine and Wilford had their second child, Aletha Punch, in 1958. During her adult years, Everine Punch worked as a Nurse’s Aide at Presbyterian Hospital and Methodist Central Hospital in Dallas, where she served along-side medical professionals to assist in saving lives. Strong in her Christian faith, she was an active member of Westview Baptist Church of Dallas, Texas, where she worshiped for many years. After 35 years of service, Everine retired from the medical field. Post-retirement, she enjoyed watching her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchild grow. After residing in the Elm Thicket area of North Dallas for many decades, Everine and Wilford moved to a quiet neighborhood in Duncanville, Texas, where they enjoyed the company of their two dogs, Pepper and Layla. On Monday, July 18, 2016, Everine Punch went home to be with the Lord. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Wilford Punch; sister-in-law, Loistene Thompson, and brother-in-law, Jack Punch (Jean); two children, André (Barbara) and Aletha; six grandchildren, Asha, DJ, Amber, Andrea, Samantha, and Toni; 15 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
