Linda A. Mitchell | CEO/President

Linda A. Mitchell is a native of Tampa, Florida and graduated from Howard W. Blake High School. Mitchell graduated from the University of South Florida. She has a B.A. in Social and Behavioral Sciences, with an emphasis in Sociology and African-American Studies. She continued postgraduate work at the University of South Florida in Rehabilitative Counseling.

Mitchell serves as Chief Executive Officer. Recently, Mitchell opened Black & Clark Chapel in North Dallas. She has worked in funeral-related businesses for over 40 years and wants to provide families with excellence throughout the city and believes in doing business with integrity and honesty.

Emanuel Pruitt | Licensed Funeral Director/ Embalmer

Mr. Emanuel Pruitt is a native of Tyler, Texas, where he received his formal education at Emmett Scott High School and Texas College. In addition, Mr. Pruitt attended Dallas Institute of Funeral Services to become a Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer.

At Black & Clark Funeral Home, he is a shareholder and Funeral Director in Charge who has served with us for 56 years. As a leader in the death care industry, he is President of the Dallas Local Funeral Directors and Mortician Association. He is also President of the North Texas District Independent Funeral Directors of Texas and is a life-long member of the National Funeral Directors Association.

Emanuel is married to Debra Pruitt, has two sons, one granddaughter, and a great grandson.

Rodney L. Powell | Licensed Funeral Director/ Embalmer/ Preneed Agent

Mr. Rodney L. Powell is a Funeral Director, Embalmer, Preneed Agent and Counselor. He has served at Black & Clark for over 20 years and is known for his compassion and care for families during their most difficult times.

Powell is a graduate of Franklin D. Roosevelt High School and of the Dallas Institute of Funeral Services. Mr. Powell is married to Monica Rolen Powell and they cherish their combined family of seven children. Powell also enjoys fishing in his spare time.

Gary Clark | Licensed Funeral Director

Mr. Gary Clark, Funeral Director, is a shareholder and third-generation service provider in the death care industry. Clark is a graduate of the Dallas Institute of Funeral Services and licensed as a funeral director by the Texas Funeral Services Commission.

Ermina Josia Sunday | Office Manager

Ms. Ermina Josia Sunday received her formal education at Bishop Dunne High School in Dallas, El Centro College, and Ottawa University.  She, in addition, is a graduate of Dallas Institute of Funeral Services.  She is licensed as an Embalmer by the Texas Funeral Services Commission.  She is studying to become a Funeral Director.

Ms. Sunday is the Coordinator of Funeral Arrangements and Administrative Support Services.  She is also a Pre-Need Counselor and Agent.  Ms. Sunday works personally with families when arranging funeral services, coordinating with cemeteries and crematories, writing contracts, and working with insurance companies.  Ms. Sunday is known for her comforting spirit and professionalism.  Many families look toward Ms. Sunday for advice, guidance, and support.

Ms. Sunday is an active member of Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church in Dallas.  She enjoys traveling, sports, and shopping.

Theresa R. Shelton | Administrative Assistant

Ms. Theresa R. Shelton, a native of Boston, Massachusetts, is Administrative Assistant to Linda A. Mitchell, CEO.  Ms. Shelton assists with office management, funeral arrangements, purchasing goods and services, and daily administrative functions.  Ms. Shelton assists all team member at Black and Clark in completing tasks when need.

Ms. Shelton is a graduate of O. W. Carter High School in Dallas.  She has worked with other companies in management and support roles.

She is the proud parent of three children, two grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

Benjamin Mitchell | Preneed Counselor

Mr. Benjamin Mitchell serves as a Preneed Agent and Counselor at Black and Clark Funeral Home. Mr. Mitchell assists families prearrange funerals and gives seminars on the funeral process and the importance of families keeping records.

He is a graduate of Huston Tillotson University in Austin, Texas and the School of Methods Engineering at Texas Instruments, Inc.

Timothy Hubbard | Funeral Attendant

Mr. Timothy Hubbard serves as Funeral Attendant at Black & Clark Funeral Home. He assists funeral directors with mortuary and embalming services and support services, including driving the family limousine and company vehicles.

Hubbard is a graduate of Bryan Adams High School in Dallas and Cedar Valley Community College.

He enjoys spending time with his family and friends.
