Cece gave me the opportunity of a lifetime to become an intern at KYW-TV 3, People Are Talking with Maury Pauvich as a high school student. She mentored me through college and beyond. I was so proud to become her sorority sister and to celebrate together in 2008. She is truly missed. Grateful that our paths intertwined!

One of my fondest memories of Cece is when she was in Los Angeles with my mom in the car. They had just left the Buddhist temple and my mom was trying to explain to Cece that her daughter was a Buddhist. Being cautious Cece demanded my mom to call me in NYC. As they were driving my mom put me on speaker phone and started asking questions. Cece sometimes frequented the Manhattan Branch Temple in NYC where at the time I was Head of Security. We laughed so much after figuring out who we were and that we’ve known each other not even knowing the connection was so deep. Cece I will miss you and your guidance in the entertainment world. I miss your friendship. New Years Day will never be the same. RIP

"I was deeply touched by CeCe (Cecelia Antoinette) who filled our lives with her vibrancy, joy and intelligence. I felt loved and cared for in her presence — she took the time to listen, observe and share her knowledge. As an actress, she was a genius disappearing into the characters she brought to life. She delighted Reel Sisters audiences in Outta My Name as a sassy talking elder that demanded respect for the accent in her name. CeCe was a cheerleader for many arts organizations and artists — she attended Reel Sisters film screenings where she always sparked thought provoking conversations with young actors and directors. On Cece’s Facebook page, her friend Zara Green described her as “funny, talented and spiritual.” That’s so true. Cece was a brilliant performer and an amazing person. We made 3 short films together (and wanted to do many more). Cece was such a versatile performer, she could play both drama and comedy. Her performances were precise, finely crafted, masterful. Read the remarkable list of her films, TV shows and theater productions. The Godfather of Harlem, Blue Bloods, Two Broke Girls, Desperate Housewives, Mad Men. Cece had a huge heart. That’s why she was such a great hostess. A party at Cece’s was fun! She was endlessly supportive of her friends’ projects. How many Opening Nights, Closing Nights and Cast Parties did she attend? Yes, she could drive you crazy, too. She might arrive early, on time-- or so far beyond CPT that you thought she must have decided not to come. But then she’d show up, unleash all that divine “Cece-ness.” She was always worth the wait. It’s amazing to discover that Cece was actually 70 years old. Young people were drawn to her. She mentored so many actors, writers and directors. Even at 70, it seemed like she had so much to look forward to. Cece loved to travel—to Japan, Mexico—and anywhere else a good roadshow might take her. After gifting us with her presence in New York and Los Angeles, Cece came home to Dallas to leave this earth. I’m forever grateful to her sister Laura for caring for Cece during her final months—loving her, nursing her, and for providing the soft place Cece needed to land. I can’t pretend to know how I’ll ever get over Cece’s passing. I’ll never be the same… She lived the lyrics “Reach Out and Touch Somebody’s Hand, MakeThis World a Better Place, If You Can.” Cece Antoinette definitely made the world a better place. Love, Cathleen

Although I came to know CeCe only a decade ago, we were family for our lifetime. On a layover in Los Angeles, I made it a point to visit my cousin and spend time with her. She introduced me to her spiritual center so that I could experience the positive vibrations of Buddhism, her chatting, and the vibrations she sent out daily. I understood and felt the tranquility that was all around her in her space. In a world like we are living in artists are sensitive to the vibrations all around us, we feel the energy of others, she took me to her temple to feel the vibrations of the chants, it was powerful. She made food runs and distributed these donations to her fellow artists that were sick and shut-in, she had her Volvo wagon full of boxes. One day we went from a food line to a conference Black Women’s Theater Company of Los Angeles, to the Actors Guild for a screening, to an African American Directors meetup. Always a plan and keeping it moving, no time to stand still, always forward motion in this world. Our first project together she submitted a tribute to her maternal grandmother PRINCELLA. Hartman - “Ringing of the Bell”, on Hartman Street. I had a feeling last November that I needed to celebrate with Cece in New York, and I am so glad that I was able to make that trip, and to have spent time with her, and experience a fraction of her life in Los Angeles, Dallas, and Manhattan. She truly made her life a legacy, living the life she loved.

Cee Cee, I am really still reeling from the news that you are amongst the Angels now. I'm trying not to be too hard on myself for not even knowing you were ill. I have to stop myself from saying what kind of Sisterfriend am I to not have known that. I know we've shouted each other out on FB from time to time, but when I heard the news, it dawned on me that I hadn't seen you in my feed for a while. But that wasn't unusual because you were a bi-coastal working Actress, rightfully so. You were sooooo talented. I'll never forget your one Woman show "Watermelon, get it while it's hot!" I was always in stitches when you morphed into the Leroy character. The true test for me when something is a great body of work is how often will I sit through it. Your show was seen by me on a few occassions as a result. You have always been my happy place Cee. You always managed to be nearby on my most special occassions like when you were in NYC for my 50th Bday turn-up, you made time for me, one of my fondest memories of what has now become our last laughs together. You were God's love to me in the flesh. I thank God for loving me so much that She allowed our paths to cross. You may be gone, but you will NEVER be forgotten. Loving you always and forever my Sistar, beyond infinity. Rest in Power!

To My Soror Cece Antoinette, I met Cece a few years ago at a birthday party. It makes sense that I would meet someone like her, vivacious, a great laugh and smile, at a party. As we started talking we realized we were both AKA's as well as neighbors and a bond was in effect from then on. You could always count on Cece to have her cell ready for a photo op! She documented every event, play, party, etc that she attended as well as the get togethers at her apartment. Her photos alone can tell her story of a life full of celebration. I have a great memory of running into her on the corner of our street and we talked and laughed. Then another one of our Sorors showed up, Soror Carmen and the three of us hung out and laughed for almost an hour. None of us got to our destinations on time! I saw my soror twice before she moved back home. The first time was a call back audition for a play last fall and we spoke briefly. As I was leaving, I remember how I thought Cece would be perfect for this role. The last time was at the beginning of the year and we were crossing the street to get to our building. She was rushing ahead of me and talking about leaving town and at the time I thought there she goes, my soror is about to start another adventure. Rest in Power Soror Cece.❤

She was the first spokesperson on my Jazz tv show in 1994, and I saw her lovely face as I was going through my archives right before I received the news of her passing. I taped her show "Browns Gal's Rising" many times. I have 'Live Jazz' in my home every Sunday afternoon and CC was sitting right here every Sunday she was in NYC after she left the temple. We shared many laughs together. I wanted her to be here at the finish of this madness we call life a while longer. A wonderful actress, a strong woman, and a dear dear friend. She will be missed.
