Obituary of Dwayne Scott
~~Dwayne Everett Scott was born June 1, 1951 in Zwolle, Sabine Parish, Louisiana to Bernice Andrew and Vance E. Scott, Jr. Both parents preceded him in death.
He accepted Christ at an early age and united with Boll Street CME Church which is now Cedar Crest Cathedral CME Church and remained a faithful member until his death.
He attended high school in the Dallas Independent School District and graduated in 1969. Dwayne went on to earn a BA degree in Sociology/ Psychology from North Texas State University in Denton, Texas in 1975. He later attended Dallas Baptist University, Dallas, Texas and earned a MBA in Finance in 1990.
Dwayne worked for IBM Corporation and the Mobil Corporation for more than 15 years as an accountant. He also worked twelve years with Dallas Independent School District in various accounting positions. At the time of his death he was employed as a budget analyst for Dallas County.
Dwayne passed away peacefully Friday, November 3, 2017.
Dwayne is survived by his daughter, Ashley Taylor of San Antonio, Texas, sister, Ms. Lowanda Scott Hebert of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and brother Vance E. Scott III of Silver Springs, Maryland. He is preceded in death by parents, Bernice Andrew and Vance E. Scott, Jr., grandparents Leroy and Edna Canada Williamson and Princalee Scott and Vance Scott Sr.
Others left to cherish his memories are coworkers and friends from Mobil Oil, Dallas Independent School District, Dallas County, members of the Cedar Crest Church family and special friends and family, Bobbie Johnson and Diane Brown.
