Obituary of Beulah Mae Armstrong

Beulah Herron Armstrong was born in Prentiss, Mississippi, on August 31, 1928, to Matthew and Ella Collins Herron. She was the oldest of eight siblings.
Beulah accepted Christ as her personal Savior at an early age. She was an active member in church, BTU, Sunday school and youth mission.
Educated in the public schools of Prentiss, she was a graduate of Prentiss Institute and later attended nursing school in Jackson.
She married Daniel Webster Armstrong and to this union, they had three children: Louis Armstrong, Linda Armstrong O’Neal and David Armstrong. She was a dedicated wife and mother.
Beulah was a member of First Missionary Baptist Church in Biloxi, Mississippi. She served on the Senior Mission Outreach ministry, Women Home Mission, and local PTA. She also participated with the local NAACP and many community activities.
Beulah enjoyed Wednesday night bible study, watching old westerns and dramas like Perry Mason and Murder She Wrote. The family often asked her about home remedies, where she had mastered some good remedies. Most of all, the family gatherings are where her heart lies, serving up her famous gumbo for all to enjoy.
Beulah departed this life on August 25, 2020.  She is preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Webster Armstrong; son,  Louis Armstrong; parents, Matthew and Ella Collins Herron; brother, Luther Herron; and sister, Katie Herron Atlas.
She leaves to cherish her memories her two loving children: daughter Linda Armstong O’Neal and son, David Armstrong (LaWanda); two grandchildren, Kimberly Como and Jeremy Armstrong (Heather); four great-grandchildren; Siblings: Buford Herron of Gardenia, California, Lela Barnes, H.C. Herron (Barbara)of Prentiss, Alfred Herron (Lela) of Dallas, and Nora Lee (Odell) of Nipomo, California; and many relatives and a multitude of friends.
Sleep on, sleep on and take your rest. We love you but God loves you best.
