Obituary of Demotis Lillard
~~Demotis Lillard, departed this life on September 25, 2017 at Methodist Dallas Hospital.
He did not linger nor suffer, as he took flight to be with the Lord.
Demotis entered this life as the apple of his parent’s eye, Horace & Addie Jewel Winn Lillard on October 31, 1958, a bouncy baby boy. His dad Horace passed away when Demotis was very young and his mother later met and married Willie Spearman, Sr., who had the privilege of rearing Demotis along with his two other brothers Willie Spearman, Jr. and Keith Spearman.
Demotis grew up in Dallas and attended both Elementary school and South
O’Cliff (SOC) High School.
He accepted Christ at an early age and while his career path led him to become an Electrician Par Excellent, He worked for many years with Rick electrical Service Company. The most important aspect of his life (next to God) while being raised by his step-father, Willie Spearman Sr. was spending time with his family. His love for family outings/gatherings and time he spent with “the crew” left nothing to be desired. He was the life of the party whenever we gathered and he made sure that everyone around were comfortable and happy.
Demotis is preceded in death by his parents as well as his step-father Willie Spearman Senior, and his favorite aunt Elsie Odell Winn with whom he lived until her demise. He continued to live there with his second mother, Patricia until death.
He leaves to mourn his loss, his Louisiana family, alone with his brothers, Keith Spearman, Willie Spearman Jr., (Tammie), two aunts, Ivy Butcher of Dallas, TX, Sarah June Johnson (Earlie) of Fort Worth, TX & Katherine Polk of Centerville, TX. His Second Mother, Patricia Neal, his adopted brothers and sisters, Vanessa Alford, Rex Albert Winn, Keius D. Winn (Leigh), Jeremiah Alford (Philena), Matthew Winn, “The Crew” and a host of other relatives and friends.
