Obituary of Emma Mae Lloyd

and Katie Mae White. Emma was the baby of the bunch, with two older brothers, Roy Goodson and Bill Goodson. All proceeded her in death. Emma move to Dallas at an early age where she began her employment in assorted businesses. Her experiences made her a natural with people. She spent many years in Retail Sales at Singer Harris (later Foley’s) and upscale retail store in Dallas. She received employee accolades for Texas Instruments as well as from Jarvis Christian College as a Dorm Mother. Emma was very Active in her community. She spearheaded the “Mow-Clean” neighborhood project which cleaned vacant lots, preformed lawn maintenance and park beatification.  The City of Dallas entrusted Emma with this program as well as input at City Council meetings to foster interest in the South Dallas area know as the Queen City.

Emma met and married Wille D. Lloyd of Dallas, TX on January 6, 1949 in Fort Worth, TX. The union produced a daughter, Deborah Ann Lloyd, who preceded her in death.

Emma is survived by 3 granddaughters, Bianca Bedgood (Allen) of Killeen Tx, Tamika Allen of Wichita Falls, Tx and Rika Johnson (Allen) of Hampton, VA. Son-in-Law Dwight Allen (Deborah), 2 great grandsons Kietrick Allen and Devon Bedgood of Killen, TX, Cousins, Joe Barryer, Nicole Barryer, Stephen Barryer, Marcus Barryer, Corey Barryer and Adam (Christopher) Barryer, all of Dallas TX, and a host of extended family and friends.

Emma’s favorite bible verse was Psalm 27-

The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

In lieu of flowers the family is asking for donations to be made to Hospice of Wichita Falls, TX
