On June 3, 1941, Beulah Mae and George Bodie Page, Sr. were blessed to become parents to
a baby girl they named SHIRLEY ROSE. Shirley went to rest in God’s arms early Saturday
morning, December 12, 2020.
Shirley received her early education in Dallas Independent Schools, graduating from
James Madison High School in 1959. For the next 4 years she attended the University of North
Texas (formerly North Texas State College) majoring in Music.
In 1963, she met and married Leroy Collier. The following year God blessed their union with a
baby girl, Cassandra Lerose. Leroy preceded Shirley in death, as well as her parents and two
brothers, Oliver and George, Jr.
Shirley has always loved to play the piano. She received piano training at an early age from her
grandmother who was a church musician. She was encouraged to play in the church by her
mother (also a church musician), and used the talent God gave her to serve for more than 55
years as a church musician at St. Luke United Methodist Church and Beginners Baptist Church,
Dallas, Texas.
Shirly leaves to cherish her memories her granddaughters Micaela and Channing, one sister,
Rhea Thompson, two brothers, Alfred and Belford (Betty), and a host of nieces and nephews, a
God daughter, and other relatives and friends.
