My husband Kenneth and I were blessed to be asked to keep Kitrinas for a while when she was 3 years old by her father our son Ferrell. To our delight and his necessity, a few months turned into years and Kitrina was a
Junior in High school before she went to live with her dad in Georgia. However. shen Obama took office I took kitrina out of school. She and I took the train and the bus to downtown Dallas at the WFAA building were they showed it outside on a high giant big screen for everyone to see. It was so crowded and we were loving the energy . When Obama took office I cried. Because I was sharing that moment with my granddaughter!
My name sake Kitrina! Suddenly a reporter put a camera and mic in our faces and asked what dose this moment mean to you? I expressed my thoughts and, how proud I was to be sharing the moment with my granddaughter! When the reporter asked Kitrina, she said of course sharing this with my Nana is something I’ll always remember for the rest of my life, and it tells me that this is just the start next there will be a Woman of color as President! The younger generation is coming of voting age and there will be changes. This is just the start! I hope my Nana will live so I can share that moment with her too. We will get to share that time too, Even if one of us is in heaven we will still share that time together too.

My heart goes out to the family. We were part of her Atlanta family, not by blood, but by love. We all loved her dearly. Her smile and laughter could light up any room. She was like a daughter to me and it sadden me to know that she is no longer with us. Praying for the family that God will comfort you and give you strength to endure this pain. Kitrina grew up being richly loved by her family and I with her pixi face and her different scene of humor.Her close friends at church were Tim and Latoya daughter, Rayona Rice walker, snd Mrakieth. Their friendship and kindness ment everything to her. From kindergarten Katherine H. And Katherine S . Even from kinder through college.and her dear friends in Atlanta , Adrian
and Tamyra Karena and rod thank you for genuinely
lovivingways toward her. Kitrina was somewhat Ecliptic, an artist, an actress, and a beautiful singer of classical music as well as gospel. Who was always her Nanas shadow. Who loved people. And endured much more than her petite shoulder could stand at times.
Her last talk she had with me said Nana I’m finally happy with who I am. With me. I think God was too. Thank you everyone for your calls and kindness

My condolences to the family I know the pain from losing a loved one can be unbearable at times, but the bible can be a great source of comfort. 2 Corinthians 1:3,4 in that it tells us that God is the Father of tender mercies and the God of all comfort, and even goes on to give us the hope of the resurrection (Acts 24:15)
