Obituary of Bettie Brown
~~Bettie Ruth Chambers Brown began her life socially and spiritually on December 15, 1936. Born to the parentage of Johnnie Chambers and Lurlee Lane Chambers in Mansfield, Louisiana.
Bettie accepted Christ and an early age and joined the Corinth Baptist Church. She joined the Greater St. James Baptist Church and later united with the Allen Chapel Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Levi Jones, were she loved. She was a very active and faithful member serving on Usher Board#1 and the day mission.
Bettie graduated from Desoto Parish Training School in 1955 and she furthered her education attending Grambling State University. In 1960 she moved to Dallas, Texas.
Bettie met and united in holy matrimony to R.C. Brown and to this union three children were born, Robert Charles, Jacqueline and Gwendolyn Brown.
She did not know how many lives she would touch but, she touched more than she would know. Her smile was infectious and her personality filled with passion and vibrancy.
In 1967 she started working at Texas Instruments where she retired after 23 years of service. Keeping active she started working at Foley’s (Macys) Department Store.
Our heavenly Father released Bettie on Monday 21, 2017; she is preceded in death by her husband, son, and her parents.
