Obituary of Frances Rudd

Frances Russell Rudd, over 100 years blessed, born on February 20, 1921 in Harrison County, Texas, entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior on the evening of Tuesday, November 1, 2021.  Frances , one od six children, was born to the parents of Waskom Russell and Ella Hamilton Russell.

Frances was a student of the Waskom , Texas scholl system where she played her favorite sport of basketball with her sister Minnie.  Frances made dallas her home in the early 1940’s.  She met and married Willie Rudd in May of 1945.  They were married for over 61 yers before his passing in 2006.  Frances was a devoted mother to her daughter, Ella.  She was an amazing supportive grandmother to Vernita and Keith.  Frances loved to cook, she loved to talk, and she loved to tell you “God has been good to me!” Precious memories will remain in our hearts forever.

The last of her family’s generation, her ancestors were waiting to welcome her home.  Frances Russell Rudd was preceded in death by her mother, father and husband; all six of her siblings: Classie Russell, Callie Mae Williams, Lizzie Ragland, Minnie Bell Garrett Sanders, Waskom Russell Jr., and half-brother Edward Floyd “Shep” Russell.

Vernita Rickett and her husband Roderick Rickett; grandson Keith Wilson; great-grandaughters, Jzadai Williams and Britany Rickett; great-grandson , Rod Rickett II; and a host of nieces, nephews, devoted family and friends.
