Obituary of James Allen ~~James Edgar Allen was born on March 15, 1932 in Dallas, Texas to the late Elmore Allen and Bessie Miller a raised by the late Leola Brown Allen. He received his formal education in the Dallas Public Schools attending, J.W. Ray Elementary, B.F. Darrell Middle School and Booker T. Washington High School. Soon thereafter he was drafted into the US Army. There he honorably served his country until his discharge in 1954. He became a skycap for Lovefield Airport where he retired after many years of service. He accepted Christ at an early age and attend Munger Avenue Baptist Church. He united in marriage to the former Pattie Lorraine Williams. He was very active one of his favorite things was dancing, listening to music especially jazz. He was an avid golfer. He definitely impacted the lives of many and was enthusiastic about life. James transitioned peacefully at his home on May 20, 2017 He is preceded in death 2 sisters and 4 brothers. He leaves to cherish his memory a loving and devoted wife of 21 years Pattie L. Allen, 2 daughters, Patricia Allen Drawhorn and, Shelia Walker (Eric), 1grandaughter, Djuana L. Compton, 2grandson, Kevin D. Drawhorn and Dwight Turner, 1 great grandson, Devin D. Compton, Special friend, Gladys Harris, 1 brother, Shelby Allen, 2 sisters, Celestine ‘Pinkie’ and Earline Allen, and his loving companion that would always lend listening ear ‘Boston’. A host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
