Obituary of Gladys Marie McFarland

Mrs. Gladys Green McFarland was born on July 28, 1945, to the parentage of Mr. & Mrs. Pete & Pearl Green of Camden, Arkansas.  After graduating from Carver high school in 1963 (Stephen, Arkansas); she relocated to Dallas, Texas.

 

Miss Gladys Green was united in holy matrimony on September 4, 1965 to Mr. Charles McFarland.  To this union, one child were born.

 

Gladys was employed by Mental Health Mental Retardation (MHMR), Ford Motor

Company, Charles Schwab, Dallas County Schools as a Crossing Guard

with Dallas Independent School District.

 

Gladys obeyed the Gospel of Christ at the Lawrence & Marder Church of Christ in 1973 under the leadership of Minister G.C. Washington.

 

She was active in several ministries; Welcoming Team as a Greeter, Bible School Department, Spiritual Fitness Class, Preparation of Communion, Ladies Retreat, Senior Chorus and wherever her smile and services were needed.  She remained a faithful member of the Marsalis Avenue Church of Christ until her death.

 

Preceded in death by her Parents Pete & Pearl Green, two brothers Raymond Green and Leonard Green, two sisters Mildred McFadden and Geraldine Jackson. 

 

She departed this life on Tuesday, August 9, 2022 at 4:30 PM.  She leaves to cherish her memories:  a loving and devoted husband of 57 years, Mr. Charles McFarland, one daughter, Toni McFarland of Dallas, Texas, two grandchildren, Philip McFarland of Dallas, Texas, DeMarcus McFarland (Kenecia) of Lancaster, Texas, one sister Barbara Bailey of Milwaukee, Wisconsin and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
