Obituary of Florence Earnestine Sunday
Born Florence Earnestine Love on August 25th 1927 in Ben Wheeler, Texas to John Dewey Love,Sr and Blanche Tennyson Love. She was the oldest of 4 children.
She attended Van high school and graduated at age 16. From there she matriculated and received her Bachelors degree from Texas College at 19 and also receive her Masters from Prairie View A&M University 1976.
Using her degree in education she did student teaching in Gladewater Tx, then went on to teach in the Prarie Creek , Grand Prairie , Greenville ISD for a number of years from there she went on to educate students in Dallas Independent School District at Sarah Zumwalt and North Dallas high school until retirement.
She loved to serve the Lord and always put God at the forefront of her life. At an early age she united with Bethlehem CME Church. She later became a proud member of Warren Ave Christian Church. Where she served in numerous capacities including the Superindepent of Sunday school and President of the Orion Women’s Guild for a number of years.
She became a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority Inc, Alpha Xi Omega chapter in 1976 . She was also Silver star honoree.
Affectionally called “Mama’ Stine”. She was preceded in death by her parents. Brothers Frank West Love and John Dewey Love Jr., and sister LaVerta Pearl Dobbins.
She leaves behind a loving Daughter Patricia Sunday Lancaster, (Richard ), grandson Olric Robert “ Chip “ Beckles II , great-grandsons Geremey Derrick and Jamison Robert Beckles. Nephews Delanamore “Butch”Love , Cornelius Dobbins and Kenneth Love. Nieces Novia Dawn Love, Andrea Lezine Love, Barbara Foster and Benita Rubio. A special granddaughter Rosilyn Butler and a host of relatives and friends.
She was a beacon of light ,love and truth to all she came into contact with. Her soul is now at peace. Her presence will truly be missed.
