Obituary of Willie Mae Green
Mrs. Willie Mae Chalmers Green, age 84, went home to be with the Lord on August 31, 2022, at Lennwood Nursing & Rehabilitation in Dallas, Texas. Born in Jefferson, Texas, to Mr. Tom W. and Mrs. Vera Mae Chalmers, she was one of nine children from their union.
Affectionately known by her family as Madea, she relocated to Dallas in her teen years and worked as a cook for more than 30 years in various kitchens and restaurants across the metroplex. She was united in marriage twice. Madea loved the Lord and was a faithful member of her prayer line. A devoted mother, sister and friend, she was a second mother to many. She never met a stranger and welcomed those in need into her home. Madea loved to play dominoes, cook, play cards, talk trash and most of all she loved her family.
She was preceded in death by her Parents, siblings; Joe (Alma) Chalmers, Lorenzo (Nola) Chalmers, Aubrey (Johnnie), J.C. Chalmers, Ethel Mae chalmers, and Eliza Mae Chalmers; daughter Kathryn L Gillaspie; and sons Wilson Gillaspie, Robert Green, and David Green.
She is survived by her beautiful children, ( Barbara (Myron) Jeffery Williams of Duncanville, Texas, Arron Green of Dallas, Texas, George (Shanta) Green of Dallas, Texas, Felisa Green of Dallas, Texas, Lasandra (Pat) Green of Dallas, Texas, Brandon (Shenequa) Green of Cedar Hill, Texas; Daughter in Law Carla Jones Green (the late David Green) as well as stepdaughter Demetra Elaine Adams; her siblings Hero Chalmers Sr and Douglas Ray Chalmers; Sister N Law Magdelene Chalmers (the late J.C.chalmers ) and a host of grandchildren (34), great-grandchildren (53), great-great grandchildren (4), nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.
