Q: What will you never forget about Bobbie?
A: I will always remember the time that I worked for Bobbie in the Community Relations Department in Dallas ISD. During this time period, Bobbie was very kind, caring and supportive of my work in starting the DISD Parent Education Program and Districtwide Parent Center. Not only did she help me launch this program but she provided the tools, resources and community contacts to support the process. I remember the times Ms. Bobbie would come to our Parenting Center and read to young students. I was so impressed that she took time out of her busy schedule to inspire the joy of reading in young learners. I will certainly miss Bobbie but will cherish the wonderful years we spent together working with families and children throughout the Dallas community. Rest well my friend, boss, mentor and prayer partner. You have earned your crown - wear it well.

Q: What will you miss most about Bobbie?
A: I will never forget the warmth, inner and outer beauty, caring and motherly nature she provided to me when I visited her, Uncle Julius Foster and my first cousin Donnie Foster. You see I had the unique opportunity of being with Aunt Bobbie in the classroom and at her home. As a matter of fact, she was my second-grade teacher. She was one of the best of the best if not the best teachers and aunts.
When President John F. Kennedy was assassinated, On Friday, November 22, 1963, at 12:30 p.m., I was with Teacher Mrs. Foster. During this time, Teacher Mrs. Foster, became Mommy Foster to all of us second grade students that had to witness many adults weeping and becoming very emotional. Without her that day, many of us would have been even more scarred for life. Many Thanks Aunt Bobbie!
Donnie, my sincerest condolences go out to you at this time. You have my deepest sympathy and unwavering support. Wishing you peace, comfort, courage, and lots of love at this time of sorrow. As I expressed to you on the phone, at least she does not have to suffer anymore. Donnie I agree with Rod as he said, you sounded amazingly calm, strong and articulate. Praise God!
As my sister Linda-Foster-Allen said after Mommy Rose-Foster-Hall passed on, don’t be sad don’t be dismayed, allow her to move on to bigger and better things and one day you too will have the opportunity to move on to the pearly gates.
Donnie, my heart goes out to you, Aunt Verdi; your Daughter; Grand Daughter; and to the rest of the family at this difficult time.
Also, special thanks and condolences to big sis Judy-Foster-Faggins who was best of friends with Aunt Bobbie and consistently contacted and consoled her during times of pain and despair. Friends are there when you are down as well.
Also, my condolences and thanks to Rod Foster for the amazing testimony you gave to me about Aunt Bobbie and her courage during the treatment and for finding the way to contact me even though I am out of the country. Also, thanks for linking me with my beloved cousin Donnie.
The long life that Aunt Bobbie had is a testament to her amazingly positive thinking. She could have given up many years ago with her battles with health but she never did and never complained. She could be the poster Lady for Cancer research, survivors and positivity.
Aunt Bobbie even though I am not able to join your celebration of life ceremony in person, I will always be with you through the Grace of God!
May your soul rest in peace!
Darryl Hall (Nephew)

I don't know how many of you remember where you were when President John F. Kennedy was killed in Dallas Texas or if you were even born. We knew something was going on that day, and I will never forget being hustled back into my 2nd grade teacher's homeroom class (2A) on November 22, 1963, when she announced to us that the most beloved President of the United States had been shot and killed right in downtown Dallas, not 10 minutes away from our school. Time will forever stand still with certain historical moments, and this was one. I will forever remember Bobbie Foster as she comforted all of these little 7-year-olds, crying and not really understanding what was happening right here in our own city. In the days to follow, as confident 7-year-olds would have it, we would reenact the assassination scene from the Grassy Knolle right out on the playground of Phyllis Wheatley Elementary School, cause that's how 7-year-olds process stuff. Mrs. Foster was the best Comforter-in-Chief. We had no cell phones, no parents rushed to the school, no citywide shut down; we just walked on home at the end of the day as usual, bewildered by what had just happened to Dallas. A couple of days later we relived it again when Jack Ruby killed Lee Harvey Oswald. In addition, while the nation mourned in the days following the assassination, she kept right on teaching subtraction (10-6=4). And for years Mrs. Bobbie Foster was a lifelong renowned DISD educator... Rest well my beloved.

Bobbie was my mamma and I’m so grateful for her love, support and laughter for so many years.
She was my mentor and inspiration starting in the early 70’s in DISD and throughout my moves across the US. She loved her family, especially Donnie, Sister and her “daughter” and granddaughter, her church and sorority.
Bobbie Jean encouraged us all to be our best selves and keep on stepping up. How lucky we were to go to movies, Broadway shows and concerts together. I’ll always hear her saying “Now, Barb, this is what we are going to do about…….”
My life is enriched with her love, friendship and laugh. Joyful that she has left the limits of her physical body and has joined her family in heaven.
We’ll done, good and faithful servant!

Momma B is who you are and always will be to us. You loved us as if we were biological children. You always made sure that we knew you loved us. There’s an empty spot in our hearts but you always made sure that we knew God’s will would be done in this life. Forever in our hearts. We miss you but we know we will see you again. We’ll take care of zFon & Auntie

There was no one like Mrs Bobbie Jean Foster. I cherish every moment of time spent with her at Phyllis Wheatley School. She carried that syrupy kind of sweet, delectable, attractive , kind of sweet, it beckoned our love, enhanced our learning and we sprouted. I hope your journey onward provides an an easy path Mrs Foster, filled with silken roads, and clear directions. Sleep well my lovely, your assignment is now completed,
Debra Lawrence

A rose has been plucked from our garden….a rose though gone will forever remained bloomed in our hearts. To Mike & I, she was “Momma B,” to her we were her children. We knew that she loved us as her very own. We can’t say goodbye, only “see you later!” Momma B we love/loved you but our Heavenly Father loved you best. You have received your “ crown of life!” Take your bow and rest in the bosom of your Heavenly Father. Well done, well done!
