Obituary of Elbie Cassandra Brooks
Elbie Cassandra Bryant Brooks , a native Texan was born March 4, 1933 in Dallas Texas to the parentage of Mrs. Clemie Woods and David Bryant Sr. She was the youngest of 4 siblings.
Elbie gave her life to Christ at a young age and was a member of Denley Drive Chruch earlier
Elbie attended Dallas public schools. She was a graduate from Lincoln High School and went on to earned her bachelors degree and Masters Degree from Prairie View A&M University.
She started her teaching career at age 20 for grades K-3 at various DISD elementary schools and later worked at the DISD Administrative office as a facilitator under Yvonne Ewell for many years. She later returned to her first love the classroom where she spent the remainder of her 42 years of teaching at L.K. Hall Elementary School in Dallas.
In 1955 she Married Taze Brooks . From this union one son Mark E. Brooks and one daughter Leisha C. Brooks Williams. There union lasted 29 years until he proceeded her in death June 04, 1981.
Elbie was a spirited., funny and loving soul. She loved giving advice and was a wonderful listener. She was a wonderful mom to all, a special grand mother and a giving friend to all.
Elbie was preceded in death of both her parents, sisters Fransis Jackson, Willie Pearl Reece and Brother David Bryant Jr.
02 She will continue to live through her children Mark E. Brooks, daughter Leisha C. Brooks Williams, grandsons, Keynon T. Brooks, Jarred E. Williams, great-granddaughters Keyoni and Madison Brooks, Jaxyn E. Williams, many nieces and nephews and a host of family and friends
