Nina Ethel Ragland was born on June 4, 1943, in Granada, Mississippi to the loving parents Edgar and Dora Gordon. Nina was welcomed into her eternal home on August 23, 2023. Nina was the seventh child of nine children. Nina moved to California at an early age. She received her education in the California school system where she graduated from Centennial High School in 1962. She then met and married the love of her life Robert Lee Ragland. They enjoyed 57 amazing years of marriage and to this union 4 children were born.

Nina worked in various industries; Mattel Toys, Star-Kist Tuna, and Kaiser Permanente where she later retired. After retirement Nina assisted her sister in running her daycare. In 2005, Nina relocated to Dallas, Texas with her husband and family. She joined the Inspiring Body of Christ (IBOC) Church. Nina loved the Lord, and it showed in her daily life. Nina was a woman who loved and treasured her family. She will be missed immensely.

Nina Ethel Ragland was preceded in death by her father Edgar Gordon, her mother Dora Gordon, three of her brothers, Oscar Gordon, Charlie Gordon, and Robert Gordon, three of her sisters, Rena Bell Flowers, Laura Tedford, and Beola Finley.

She leaves to cherish her memory: her loving daughter Tina Ragland, three sons, DuVere Ragland, Ricky Ragland, and LaVere Ragland; her younger sister Eunice Courtney-Pack, and her younger brother Ray Gordon; six grandchildren Brandon Barnes, Rick Ragland Jr., Tyrea Ragland, Roderick Ragland, Lazarrian Hope, and Lavell Hope; five great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends
