Verdell was born on June 13, 1944 to James Walter Stimpson and Dorothy Carter in Denton, TX. He graduated from Saint Peter Academy in 1962. He worked for Packaging Corporation of America (PCA) for 42 years. After retirement, he was the driver for Desoto Senior Citizen Center for 8 years.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 27 years Jacqueline Harvey Stimpson; two step children Nadjala Morris (Donarius), Clifford Claiborne Jr. (Nadia); his children from his first wife , (Jurlene) are Demetria Denman (Darren), Stevie Stimpson (Michelle), Verdell Stimpson Jr., thirteen grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one sister, Loretta Mohair (Robert); two brothers, James Stimpson (Patricia), Richard Stimpson (Jennifer); a special aunt Dorothy Schufford; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who loved him dearly.
He is preceded in death by his mother Dorothy Lampkin, father James Stimpson, stepfather James Lampkin, grandson Xavier Ashby, brother-in-law Robert Mohair.
