I’m so sorry about your mom, Mrs. Henderson. She will always be Mrs. Henderson to me, no matter how many times she asked me to call her Carolyn. Your mother was a fiercely intelligent woman. She made sure you didn’t miss out on any opportunity in life and I often think of her and her dedication to her children in raising my own. I loved being around her. I always sought her approval and loved the look she would give when we annoyed her with one of our weird jokes. She had a gorgeous smile and worked so hard her whole life and was always there for you, Erin - I’ll never forget the sound of her Mercedes diesel engine coming from like, a mile away- to pick me up for carpool. Sometimes you wouldn’t even be in the car and i think she never rushed you- she always made space for you to exist how you needed to. She also always had the best snacks at your house- she was “the cool mom” who would buy us anything and take us anywhere. We were at a softball dinner at some restaurant (Purdy’s?) and my mom wouldn’t buy me ice cream so i, weirdly, asked your mom and she was about to! Buy my mom put her foot down lol. I’ll always remember her twirling in the blue dress we told her was see through and her taking us to the mall just so we could tell people we were sisters. I’m deeply sorry for this painful loss. Mrs. Henderson was elegant, wise and like a second mother to me. My family’s thoughts are with your family.
