Life Reflections of Eddie Maurice Smarr….
Eddie was born on Saturday, May 29,1965 to the union of Tom and Marvella Jones Smarr in Marianna, Arkansas. Eddie was the seventh child of thirteen children. He accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at the age of 9 at Third Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Aubrey, Arkansas under the leadership of the late Pastor Grover Vassar. He attended Sunday School and sang in the choir.
Eddie received his education in the Lee County Arkansas school district. In 1984, he graduated from Lee Senior High School home of the Trojans. After high school, he moved to Dallas, Texas where he received his Certification in Major Appliance Service Technology. He resided in Dallas, Texas until God called him from his earthly labor on Saturday, May 18, 2024.
Eddie had a passion for outreach ministry. He was inspirational in showcasing his outreach ministry by assisting in the feeding, clothing and ministering to those in need, both physically and spiritually. He always inspired others by his scriptural words of inspiration. Eddie had a testimony and wasn’t ashamed to share it with others.
Eddie was preceded in death by his father Tom Smarr; his grandparents Clarence and Mae Bertha Jones; four fraternal brothers: Wade Smarr, Johnny Smarr, Tom Smarr, Jr., Slyvester Green and John Smarr. One sister, Maxine Smarr Young.
Eddie leaves to cherish his precious memories his loving mother Marvella Smarr of Marianna, Arkansas. Ten sisters: Mae (Herbert) McCoy of Zion, IL; Jerlene (Harold) Eason of Little Rock, AR; Shirlene (Larry) Gaines of Oklahoma City, OK; Roberta (Ronald) Willis of Zion, IL; Mattie (Warren) DeShay of Rowlett, TX, Jeanette (Edward) Broadway of Sunnyvale, TX; Mulanda (Kenneth) Farr of DeSoto, TX; Rosetta (Norvell Lester) Bass of Little Rock, AR; Loretta (Antonio) Gayden of Little Rock, AR; and Sharon Smarr of Marianna, AR.
Two brothers: Anthony Smarr of Cahokia, IL and Derrick Smarr of Little Rock, AR.
Seven parental sisters: Mary Bell Rachel and Erma Doyle of St. Louis, MO; Jacqueline Taylor Robinson-Ball (Kirby); Linda McBride (Carl); Rosaland McCain (Terrance); Ann Taylor Mackins, and Lisa Taylor
Four fraternal brothers: Melvin Smarr and Ira Smarr of St. Louis, MO, Elvin Smith of Marianna, AR, and Kerry Taylor. He also leaves to cherish his memories sixty nieces and nephews; two aunts, two uncles, one great aunt and a host of cousins and friends.
Eddie loved his family and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
