Obituary of Constance Irene Cox

On Monday, June 10, 2024, Constance Irene Cox went to reside in her heavenly home safe in the arms of Jesus. Constance Irene May Cox was born on July 4, 1941, In Leigh Texas to the proud parents O. D. May Sr. and Ernestine Patterson May. 

Constance received her education in the Karnack Public Schools where she was Captain of the basketball team.  After moving to Dallas Texas, she worked as a team lead at Corbet Lighting company for many years. She then worked at Sanger Harris as a team lead until she retired.

Contance met the love of her life A.V. Cox Sr. and they wed in 1959, he preceded her in death. To this union three children were born. Later she had two more children , totaling five.

Constance accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Antioch Baptist Church in Leigh Texas. Constance enjoyed playing Bingo but most of all she loved spending time with her family. Constance was a devoted woman of God, mother, sister, and friend. Constance was a remarkable woman and she exhibited kindness, honesty and love for everyone.  She touched many lives and lived her life to the fullest.

Constance was preceded in death by her parents O.D. May Sr. and Ernestine May; her daughter Belinda Jean Bolden and brothers; Billy May, O. D. May Jr and James May Sr. ; and sister Bennie May.

She leaves behind cherished memories with her children, Regina Lavergne (Terrell), A. V. Cox Jr., Felicia Cox, and Marcus Cox; her sister Barbara Ann Williams, her brothers Bruce May and Bryan May; Twelve grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren; and host of nieces, nephews and loved ones.
