Jessie M Williams Obituary

Jessie Mae Williams, aged 84, passed away on June 24, 2024, in Duncanville, Texas. Born in Tatum, Texas, on August 26, 1939, Jessie was the beloved daughter of the late Willie Shepard Williams and Minnie Rogers. She was the fourth of nine children in her family.




Jessie's early life was marked by her commitment to her faith, having confessed her life to Christ at a young age. She was an active and dedicated member of Greater MT. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church in Dallas, TX. There, she served faithfully in the Women's Mission, Greater Mt. Sinai Voice Choir, and taught in both the Children's Vacation Bible School and Sunday School.




She attended Booker T. Washington High School and later worked at Elliot Hardware Store and Parkland Hospital, where she was known for her diligence and kindness.




Jessie leaves behind a loving family: her daughter, Lashonda Williams; three grandchildren; Mahogany Mcpherson, Christian Whitmire and Zarijya Mcpherson and six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Owythee Colbert (Andrew) of Dallas, TX, and Linda Carruthers of Sylmar, California; and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends who will forever cherish her memory.




She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Minnie; three brothers, Willie Floyd Williams, Hezikah Williams, and W.D. Williams; and three sisters, Mary Lee Williams, Roberta Williams, and Nina Faye Perry.
