Obituary of Raymond Theis Roberson

Please share a memory of Raymond to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Raymond Theis Roberson affectionately, known as “Munchie and Phimp” was born December 13, 1941 to the parents of R.T. Roberson and Sarah Eleanor Cooper Roberson in Plain Dealing, LA. He received his formal education in Plain Dealing, Louisiana and Dallas Independent School District where he graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in 1960.

After graduating from high school, Raymond chose to join the United States Army, serving as a weapons expert. Following his military service, he worked as an aircraft mechanic for Braniff. He later pursued his dream of entrepreneurship by opening Robie’s Movers, a venture he successfully owned until his retirement in 2010.

Throughout his life, he was blessed with four children: LaDell Fritzgerald Pace, Regina Colby, Nikeisha Rmaona “Nikki,” and Iman Tennille Roberson. He cherished fatherhood and adored his children. Raymond enjoyed bowling in his league, spending time with family and friends, traveling, and playing pool.

Finding a place that matched his personality was rare, as he often came across as arrogant, confident in the contributions he made to the world. While some might have called him a man of many words, he was truly a man of diverse talents, ideas, and deep loyalties.

Raymond Theis Roberson is preceded in death by his parents, R.T. and Sarah Cooper Roberson, son Ladell F. Pace, daughter Nikeisha R. Roberson, sister Barbara Roberson, and brother Emmitt L. Roberson. Raymond leaves to cherish his precious memories: daughters- Regina Colby, Iman T. Roberson, his grandchildren LaMarcus Robinson, Ashlee Walker and Jonathan Colby, his sisters Christine Y. Walker, Patrice, Aneita, Yolanda Roberson and Chrisdale Harris. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
