Obituary of Ruby Hellen Harris

Obituary of Ruby Harris Ruby Hellen Harris was the only child born to Harvey Harris and Ethel Reid Harris in Wortham, Texas. She received her formal education in the Rocky Branch County Public Schools and was a graduate of Wortham Colored High School. She attended Southern Bible Institute in Dallas, Texas. She worked for Parkland Hospital and Dallas County Schools, where she retired after many years of service. Ruby accepted Christ at an early age. She was a devoted and faithful member of St. Mark Baptist Church for over 30 years under the leadership of the late Pastor Marlyn Mitchell, and currently under the leadership of Pastor Mark Mitchell (New St. Mark Baptist Church). She was an active member, serving as a Sunday School Teacher; she remained active until her health began to fail. She passed away on October 24, 2016. Ruby leaves to cherish her memory: one daughter, Carol Reid; a devoted Christian sister who was like a daughter, Martha Cooper; and a host of family and friends.
