Obituary of Colvita Griggs

Colvita “Cal” Griggs was the baby boy born to the late Doris Hawkins Griggs and Jessie Griggs on October 4, 1966 in Monticello, Arkansas.
Colvita graduated from Hamburg High School in 1985. He attended the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. After moving to Dallas from Arkansas, he joined the St John Church. He was a coach with St John sports ministry.
Colvita was employed at Cardinal Health for almost thirty years. He was well loved by his co-workers.
He was a fun loving person always cracking jokes, talking noise to entertain family and friends. He loved to travel and lived life to the fullest. He loved basketball, often playing in different leagues in the city. But if you knew Colvita, you knew he “LOVED” the Arkansas Razorbacks and Green Bay Packers.
On, September 30, 2000, he was united in holy matrimony to Yolanda Jones. To this union one child was born, Logan Chase Griggs.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jessie and Doris Griggs and brothers Phillip Walker and Sammie Walton.
Colvita transitioned from his earthly home to his Heavenly mansion January 6th surrounded by family and friends.
He leaves to cherish his memories a loving and devoted wife, Yolanda Griggs, son, Logan Chase Griggs, Grand Prairie, Texas, , sisters: Helen (Clifford) Nixon, Venus, Texas, Agnes Gibbs, Dallas, Texas, Regina Griggs, Monticello, Arkansas, brothers: James Tucker, Pine Bluff, Arkansas, Tommie (Mildred) Walker, Little Rock, Arkansas, Carson (Barbara) Griggs, Little Rock, Arkansas, Daryl Griggs, Orlando, Florida. He also leaves a father & mother-in-law, David and Annie Jones, Winona, Texas, two brother-in-laws, Craig (Gayla) Jones, Sr, Lindale, Texas and Dexter Jones, Winona, Texas. A host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
