Obituary of Johnnie Pitts
Johnnie Mae Pitts was born July 31, 1926 in Dallas, Texas to the parentage of the late James Pitts and Gertrude Rodgers. She departed this life May 21, 2016 surrounded by her loving family.
Ms. Pitts received Christ at an early age and joined the Golden Gate Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Pastor Joseph E. Lockridge and Pastor C.B.T. Smith and the current Pastor Vincent T. Parker. She was a very active member of the Sunshine Circle until her health failed.
Ms. Pitts was the house manager and caregiver for the Mills family for over 20 plus years. She owned her own business reselling and consignment. Ms. Pitts loved ceramics and pottery. She had a beautiful smile and her personality filled with passion and vibrancy. Those who were close to Ms. Pitts were touched by her loving spirit and thoughtfulness. Her loving smile brought so much joy to everyone. Her life will forever live on in our hearts
She is survived by her loving and devoted daughter, Peggie Pitts-Washington, granddaughter, Gayla Knox and Dinah Malone, great grandchildren, Nerisa, Brandon, Markaila and Aaron Jr., great-great grandchildren, Santana and Isaiah, nieces, Rita-Ann Wesley, Francine Patterson, and Sophia Pitts, and a host of other relatives and friends.
