Obituary of Alvin Smith Alvin J. Smith was born in Snyder, Oklahoma on May 9, 1946 and departed this life on April 24, 2016. Alvin J. Smith attended Booker T Washington High School in Dallas, Texas. After graduating high school he enlisted in the United States Air Force where he served his country for 4 years. He united in matrimony to Mattie Williams. Alvin is preceded in death by his parents James and Louise Smith, his foster parents Albert and Pauline Bush, 3 sisters; Ida Smith, Bobbie Steel, and Alberta Elkins, 5 brothers Jimmy Smith, Clyde Smith, Ronnie Smith, Thaddeus Smith , Larry D. Smith, father-n-law, Arthur Williams. Alvin leaves to cherish his memories a loving wife of 28 and a half years, Mattie M. Smith, 5 sisters, Margie Tenison (James) of Seagoville, TX, Georgianna Steel of Jacksonville, FL, Lillie Jean Jones of Lawton , OK, Christine Ross of Springfield, MO and Loretta Woodson of Dallas, Texas. 2 brothers, Wendell Owens (Lela) and Milton Owens (Shirley) both of Dallas, TX and a host of many loving nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
