Obituary of Launie Woodson Launie Ray Woodson was in Weimar, Texas on November 14, 1954 to the parentage of Rhodie Woodson and Bonzie Burley. Launie departed this life on April 18, 2016. Launie (Woody) attended Karl Downs and later Weimar High School where he was a star football player. He gave his life to Christ at an early age. Launie’s health failed that prevented him from receiving a scholarship in football. He was a lover of music and instruments. He is preceded in death by his mother, father and sister Dorothy Jean. Launie leaves to cherish his memories a devoted sister and brother in law: Gloria Terry (Jerry) of Dallas, Texas sisters, Evelyn Wicks of Houston, Texas, Wander Curry (Rev. Melvin Curry) of Weimar, Texas, Betty Richard (Joseph) of Waco, Texas, a brother, Rev. Charles Woodson (LaGloria) of Brenham, Texas; a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friend s who all loved him dearly.
