Obituary of Edward Baker Edward Wayne Baker was born December 19, 1959 in Dallas, Texas to Edward Nathaniel Baker and Sandra Jeanette Baker-Chancellor. “Fat Wayne” and “Big Daddy” as he was so affectionately known by all, departed on Tuesday, March 22, 2016 after battling an extended illness. Wayne attended school in the Dallas Independent School District and graduated from Lincoln High School. He met Karen Bursey, his high school sweetheart and had a son Mederick Demon Bursey. He served in the United States Marine from 1978 to 1984. He returned home on a leave in 1980 and married Bonita Bates and returned back to San Diego, California where he was stationed. To this union one daughter was born, Detrick Nicole Baker. In May, 1999 he married Laura Capps and to their union three children were born, Diamond Mariah Capps, Joeseph Deonta Capps, and Adrianna Cheyenne Baker. After being released from the United States Marines with an honorable discharge Wayne returned home to Dallas and was employed by standard Fruit and Vegetables Produce Company for 8 years until his battle of his extended illness began. Wayne leaves to cherish his memories: mother, Sandra Baker-Chancellor, grandmother, Geraldine Williams, sons, Mederick Bursey (Celena) and Joeseph Capps, daughters, Detrick N. Baker, Diamond Capps and Adrianna Baker, four grandchildren, Sharita Kelly, Skylar Bursey, Donovon Baker and Devin Baker, brother, Keither Baker, sister, Detrick Baker, two nieces Kala Cantu (Frank) and Chanta’ Baker, two nephews Keith Baker, Jr. and Cortne’ Baker and a host of aunts, uncles, other relatives and endearing friends.
