Obituary of Darlene Waggoner

Please share a memory of Darlene to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
On Friday, September 13, 2019, Darlene Waggoner, a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, sister and aunt, passed away suddenly at the age of 68 years. Darlene will forever be remembered by her daughters, Shalonda, Tameka and Georgina; and siblings, Karen Robinson and Timothy Mitchell. Darlene was born in a small town called Lawrence, Texas, five miles from Terrell, where she was raised and attended grade school. She attended college at El Centro College and Prairie View A&M University, where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in education. Shortly after graduation, she began her teaching career, where she spent 35-plus years in the Terrell, Wilmer Hutchins and Dallas Independent School Districts. In her lifetime of service to the church, Darlene served on the hospitality board and choir, and as a pianist. She was a faithful member of Greater Providence Baptist Church since 2011. Her infectious laugh and beautiful smile will always be a lasting memory in our hearts. Darlene will always be remembered as a mother of three, grandmother of four, and great-grandmother of one, with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
