To the family of Lincoln Hanks IV: I am very blessed to have known "Linc" for more that forty years. As I recall, there was never a time when he did not greet me with a big smile, and an equally big heart felt hug. He was and will remain like a brother! Though small in size, no one showed a bigger heart than he. I have such fond memories of he and Charles "Chilly Hawk" Metters as the book end bass drummers of the Marching Storm Band at our beloved Prairie View A&M University in the early years, and the standard the two of them set that still holds strong more than forty years later! I trust, but pray that he is now resting in the bosom of Jesus, safe and secure from all alarm, and harm. He will be missed by me, and by the many who came to know him, for what he stood for, and how he conducted his friendships. I pray that you will take heart in the fact that your dearly beloved Lincoln has already received his new body, fresh and eternal in heaven, and will move forward knowing that one day you, and us will be joined with him again. God bless each of you...so might it be!

I am very sorry for your loss. I know you are going through a difficult time right now and I wanted to offer a brief, encouraging message from the Bible. John 5:28, 29 and Acts 24:15 show a promise from God that can give us much comfort and a hope of being reunited with our dead loved ones again soon. There, it speaks of God’s promise of a resurrection. When you have a moment, please take a look at those scriptures in your Bible. I’m sure they will be a source of comfort to you at this difficult time. The Bible also gives us a hope of a time when we will be able to live in peaceful conditions without sickness, pain, and death (Revelation 21:4) I’ve attached a link with more encouraging scriptures. https://www.jw.org/en/publications/books/dead-live-again-tract/dead-live-again/

Lincoln was an ordinary Brother who did extraordinary things. He will truly be missed in the community. He always had a kind word, and was concerned about the community. May God give his family peace in this transition.
