Obituary of Carol Lois Jackson

Please share a memory of Carol to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Carol Lois Jackson was the third child, and only daughter, born to the parentage of Rev. Clifford James Jackson, Sr. and Elsie Lee Hudson Jackson in Dallas, Texas. She spent her early years in Dallas and when the family moved to Grand Prairie, she began hereducation in the Grand Prairie ISD, graduating from Grand Prairie High School. She received her bachelor’s degree in Education from Bishop College. Shortly after graduation she was stricken with cancer, causing the loss of several organs in whole or in part. Determined to become a cancer survivor, Carol Lois recovered and taught elementary school for over 20 years in Dallas ISD. While teaching, she also enjoyed coaching extracurricular gymnastics. During her years as a professional educator, Carol Lois simultaneously served in several capacities as she assisted her cousin whom she saw as a big sister, Mary Lois Hudson Sweatt, who was the founder/owner of the Mary Lois School of Dance. Her time at the dance school brought her great joy! She extended her love of the arts through participation in several organizations, such as the Dallas Museum of Art. Due to health reasons, Carol Lois took disability retirement. In her retirement years, she took pleasure in visiting with relatives, watching movies and favorite television shows, and listening to jazz. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. Clifford James Jackson, Sr. and Mrs. Elsie Lee Hudson Jackson. She is survived by her oldest brother, Mr. Clifford James Jackson, Jr.; her next older brother, Atty. Andrew Hudson Jackson and his wife, Carol Davis Jackson, Ph.D.; two nephews, Anwar Davis Jackson, M.D., Caleb Aaron Jackson, J.D.; a host of cousins and friends.
