Obituary of Nancy Germany
Nancy M. Germany, 93, of Dallas, Texas passed away August 23, 2015. She was born on January 4, 1922, in Nacogdoches, Texas, to the late John and Pearlina Bailey Whitaker. She married James Germany in Buffalo, New York.
She received her formal education in Sweet Union Forest Public Schools, Nacogdoches, Texas, then migrating to Buffalo, New York, later receiving her Master’s degree in Music from the University of Buffalo. Mother Germany was licensed cosmetologist owning her own salon. She was a music teacher for the Buffalo New York Independent School District where she retired after 10 years of service. Her hobbies were playing the piano, gardening and serving her church.
Mother Germany served with integrity along with her husband under the leadership of Bishop and Mother Mary Louis Anderson for 23 years in Lackawanna and Buffalo, New York at Prince of Peace Church of God In Christ, serving as a deaconess. She served at Pentecostal Temple Church of God in Christ under Bishop Charles H. McCoy, as deaconess prior to returning to her native of Texas. Mother Germany graced was a role model to all she came in contact with, teaching by precept and example. Upon returning to Texas, she served as Sunday School Teacher and deaconess at Super City Church of God in Christ, in Dallas, Texas, under Superintendent Grady Thompson. She served until the present at Charisma Church of God in Christ under Elder Billy G. Lee and Pastorette Annie T. Lee as Sunday school teacher, deaconess and Church Mother.
She is preceded in death by her husband, James Germany, parents, siblings, Ethel Shedd, Magnolia McAllister, Joe Bass, Irvin Bass, Irva Leen Looney, Kathaleen Poole, Lola Bell Hughes, Edith Bass and Jethro M. Skinner. She leaves to cherish her memories, siblings, Lois Shedd, JB Bass and Catha Bell Coleman, nieces Patricia Benson and Delores Shedd, a host of other nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
