Obituary of Betty Lee Wilson

Betty Lee Wilson was born February 22, 1930 to Cleve and Fannie Mae Booker. She departed this life on December 8, 2019.
Betty more affectionately known as “Sister” by her family,grew up in Gibsland, Louisiana, where she received her formal education in the Gibsland Public Schools. She accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized and became a member of Palestine Baptist Church in Gibsland, Louisiana.
Betty met and married the late David Key and to this union three children were born, Leroy, Howard and Betty Ann. Betty later met and married George Wilson and to this union three children were born, George III, Rosalind Marie and Gwendolyn. The family later moved to Dallas, Texas. Upon moving to Dallas, Texas Betty was employed with Children’s Medical Center where she worked for 10 years before becoming employed at U.T. Southwestern where she retired after 27years of service.
Betty loved being with her family and cooking large family dinners on Sundays. She was a giving person and always made everyone feel welcomed in her presence with such a loving spirit. Betty was a loving mother, her smile was infectious and her personality filled with vibrancy.
She is preceded in death by her husband, George Wilson, her son Leroy Key, three siblings; 2 brothers and 1 sister.
She leaves to cherish her memory, five children, Howard Key, Betty Ann Key, George Wilson III, Rosalind Wilson and Gwendolyn all of Dallas, Texas, two special daughters Amma Lois Jackson and Barbara Germany, 8 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
