Obituary of Anthony Coleman II
Anthony Lee Coleman II was born in Dallas, Texas on March 31, 1990. He was the first of two children Esther & Anthony Coleman would have. Anthony spent his entire educational career in the Mesquite Independent School District. While in middle school, Anthony participated in basketball and played bass in the orchestra. He continued those interest in high school but eventually gave up the orchestra for his first love, basketball. Anthony was a member of the John Horn H.S. basketball team all 4 of his years there. Anthony graduated from John D Horn H.S. in June of 2008.
Anthony was introduced to church at an early age with his family he was a faithful member of Mount Hebron Missionary Baptist Church in Garland Texas. Anthony later joined Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church in Plano Texas. He was very active in youth groups, youth choir and he especially enjoyed the mime ministry. He felt that through mime he could minister to others as well as express his inner feelings.
After spending one year at Stephen F. Austin University, Anthony felt a higher calling, a sense of duty and responsibility. He sat out to join the United States Army. He was sworn in on January 17, 2012. Anthony completed his Basic Combat Training at Ft Benning in Georgia, His Advanced Individual Training at Ft Leonard Wood in Missouri and his Airborne Training at Ft Benning in Georgia. PFC Anthony Lee Coleman II was a motor transport operator (88mike) assigned to the 2nd Battalion at Ft Bragg in N.C. He was promoted to Specialist in January 2014. Already realizing that he was going to make the Army his career, Spc Anthony Lee Coleman II reenlisted in 2015 and was assigned to the 7th Special Forces Group at Eglin AFB in Florida.
Specialist Anthony Lee Coleman II was awarded The Army Achievement Medal, The Good Conduct Medal, The National Defense Medal, The Global War On Terrorism Service Medal, The Army Service Ribbon, The Basic Parachute Badge and the Drive and Mechanic Badge.
While at Ft Bragg, Anthony met the love of his life, Kirsten Cook. They married on May 31, 2013 and have two beautiful daughters, Jade Leilani and Zoei Kyleigh. Anthony was a devoted and loving husband and father who loved the Lord and his family. He loved spending time with his family at the beach, playing basketball, working out at the gym, watching sports on tv, and playing his many video games.
On July 22, 2015 our Lord and Saviour called Anthony Home to serve in his Army of angels. Anthony is survived by his wife Kirsten, Daughters Zoei and Jade, Mother and father Esther and Anthony Coleman, sister Sydnie Coleman, Mother and father in laws Tamika and Charles Baker, Grandmother Myrna Berry, Grand Father Charles Bryant, 9 Aunts, 6 uncles and a host of cousins, in-laws and friends.
