My condolences to the family on the loss of your loved one. Losing someone you love is truly difficult and I know Dr. Walker will be missed. Please know our Heavenly Father holds out promises that can help us with our sorrow. One such promise is that death soon will be done away with forever (Revelation 21:4) and another promise is that "there is going to be a resurrection." I have fond memories of Rev. Dr. Claude Walker. I shared few classes with him at Brite Divinity School. When I was called to serve as Northeast Area Minister Dr. Walker was the first one who invited me to preach at his church in Longview. I thank God for him and his many ministries with which he blessed so many people. I am keeping his beloved wife and family in my prayers. May God's presence and peace be with each one of you during this time of grief and sorrow. Thanks be to God that Claude is in the presence of his beloved Savior.

Claude effected my life profoundly. His work with me at camp at Lake Brownwood introduced me to the Holy Spirit and empowered me to go forward to a life of ministry. Over the years we have seen each other, spoke to each other and reminisced. I will miss his presence but am happy that he resides with God now in fullness.

Through the years, I had the honor of serving with Claude on many Regional boards and committees of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in the Southwest. He taught me a lot. He was a devoted servant of Christ, and I thank God for his life and his witness. I feel confident (and rejoice!) that he has heard his Lord say, "Claude, well done, good and faithful servant."
