I am sooo sorry that I didn't look for Mrs. Peppers sooner! She was the teacher that had the most influence on my life! She was the first teacher that introduced us to other lands outside our neighborhood. I was a little girl whom she hand selected for 5th grade when she transitioned from 4th grade to a 5th grade teacher at Harry Stone Elementary. I can't express how much that meant to me at that time. She was a beautiful, beautiful soul! As I look back, she is the reason I love travelling and plays and art museums, etc today. And, I'll never forget listening to Sounder on a cassette tape in her room and all of us crying at the end. She was way ahead of her time!! Another classmate and I recently talked about how she would decorate her classroom with the theme from her husband's and her Summer travels; all for the benefit of opening up the world to her students! To all of you who were very close to her, you have my sincere condolences because I KNOW that you yet miss her presence. I thank God that I had the opportunity to be under her tutelage for those 2 years! I know that she's resting in heaven...
